Article 1 Students should follow the disciplines of school. If students cannot attend the classes, they should ask for the sick leave or personal leave.
Article 2 International students should be back to school before the semester begins, and register with student ID card in the SOE Office within the required date. Those who can’t register on time must ask for leave; otherwise, they are regarded as playing truants. Those who fail to register two weeks after the required date without permission for absence will be regarded as dropping off school voluntarily.
Article 3 A sick leave must be attached with hospital reports. A personal leave must be attached with relevant certifications. If the duration for the sick leave is longer than one month, the students should consider to apply for suspension; if the duration for the sick leave is longer than two months, the students are not allowed to attend final exams and should apply for suspension.
Article 4 Those who have to ask for leave must apply to the SOE Office in a written form, and fill in the three-copy leave request. One copy will be kept in the SOE Office; one will be given as a proof to the teacher who is in charge of the class when checking the attendance and the third copy will be kept by students themselves. If the duration of the leave is shorter than three days, the coordinator can authorize the leave; if less than a week (including one week), the SOE Office can authorize the leave; while if over one week, it should first be signed by the SOE Office, then checked and approved by the responsible officer of the Teaching Affairs Office, and then reported to the Dean’s Office and the Division of International Relations Office to be kept in record.
Article 5 When the leave is due, the student should apply to the department that granted the leave, to have the leave quashed. But if he or she cannot return school on time, he or she should apply to extend the leave; otherwise he or she is regarded as playing truants.
Article 6 In festivals or holidays, International students should leave and return the campus on the stipulated date. Those who want to leave earlier or return later for some particular reasons should first get permission from the SOE Office and the Teaching Affairs Office, and then report to the Division of International Relations Office; otherwise will be regarded as playing truants.
Article 7 Those whose total accumulative leaves exceed one third of the class hours of a course should not be allowed to take part in the examination of that course. And those who play truants will take disciplinary punishment according to the severity of their behaviors.
Article 8 The attendance can be taken by the teachers or the monitors. The SOE Office is in full charge of the attendance check of international students together with their coordinators. The attendance should be report to the SOE Office every month.
