Chapter I Entry and Registration
Article 1 Every new postgraduate student should register at SOE on the stipulated days with their Passport, Entry visa, Admission Letter, JW201 form. The Division of International Relations Office takes charge of electronic registration. If you cannot register on time, you should inform School of Overseas Education (SOE) in advance for permission. Normally, any delay on registration should not exceed two weeks. Without any formal notification beforehand, students who do not register on time will lose enrollment status.
Article 2 New postgraduate students should do their medical examination in the appointed hospital. If the medical examination result could not meet the requirement of the University, such a student could hold his or her enrollment qualification with the permission awarded by SOE for a year if he/she applies.
Article 3 Retain qualified postgraduate students should be in the next academic year a month earlier with proof of health from the hospital (in patients with hepatitis have to be submitted for the final three months of normal liver function tests proved) to SOE repeat applications, reviews at appointed hospitals before they are allowed to re-apply for admission procedures.
Article 4 Retain qualified postgraduate students failed in the reexamination, will be cancelled the enrollment qualification.
Article 5 The postgraduate students recorded on the school roll should return to school on time. They should go through the registration procedure by bringing the student certificate and residence permit to the SOE. They pay for their annual tuition fee, accommodation fee and insurance fee on the designated time of payment. Students must have their tuition fees paid prior to their registration (stamp registration seal on the student card). You are not eligible to register if the records show that your tuition fees have not been paid in full. If a student cannot register on his/her designated time of registration, he/she is required to apply for a leave of absence or shelf registration in advance and be approved by SOE. For those who failed to register on time and did not apply for a leave of absence, their absence will be recorded as an act of truancy or an unexcused absence in their attendance record. Students who have not register two weeks after commencement of each semester and have not been paid in full within two months will be required to withdraw from the university.
If the international student cannot pay off the tuition fee before the stipulated time, he or she can write an application form with relevant evidential documents, asking for installment with interest in one year.
Article 6 International students who are taught in Chinese have to hand in corresponding HSK certificate (Chinese Proficiency Test) when registration.
Chapter II Designated Duration of Study
Article 7 The graduate students of Guiyang Medical University are given a time limit 2-3 years, a maximum of 4 years, to complete their studies. For Doctorate / Post-graduate Student, are 3-5 years, a maximum of 6 years. Students should complete all the courses and social practices required of their major within the perspective study year.
Article 8 International graduate students of extending study are required to submit proofs of the diagnosis by approved hospitals and apply via a note. The application will be examined by relevant colleges, be approved by the Graduate Student Office, inform instructing adviser is informed and be put on file by SOE. Extending study period fees are at applicant’s own expense.
Chapter III Graduate Students Training
Article 9 Graduate students training shall be conducted in accordance with the educational models of International graduate students issued by related colleges on conjunction with Graduate Student Office.
Article 10 The style of training is the exercise instructors of the system
Chapter IV Transfer Specialty and Change Tutors
Article 11 In principle, it is not allowed for international students to transfer to different specialty or tutor after entry.
Article 12 If there is a must to transfer specialty or tutorial due to alteration of specialty and tutorial or other special reasons, students should apply in writing form and the application should be examined by relevant colleges ,be approved by the Graduate Student Office , and be put on file by SOE. Students could transfer in this case.
Chapter V Suspended, Resume and Leave School
Article 13 If an international student cannot continue study because of illness, and is diagnosed by our university’s hospital that he/she should rest or be cured or has asked for sick leave accumulated more than one month in one semester, he/she can apply to suspend the study. Students should apply in person with diagnosis from hospital and be approved by the respective offices, audited by the Graduate Student Office and be put on file by SOE.
Article 14 International students’ status is reserved during the suspending time for one year. Procedure of resuming study should be done with a medical certificate from a regular hospital and applications should be submitted one month before new semester when the suspension expires. Those who don’t resume on time will be esteemed as leaving school automatically.
Article 15 If international students ask to leave school due to illness, business and other reasons or university esteems that he/she is not appropriate to continue study , it should be proposed by the students himself/herself or tutor , signed comments by related colleges and be approved by the Graduate Student Office and SOE. According to Division of Exit-Entry Administration, the international students should apply for changing for their visa to pay the fees on their own before exclusion. Students quitting the university should complete the termination procedures on time.
Chapter VI Graduation, Completion and Attestation
Article 16 International Graduate Degree Students who are taught in foreign language should finish writing abstract of graduation thesis in Chinese or in English.
Article 17 Graduate certificates will be awarded to those international students who have finished all courses, passed exams and dissertation defense according to related regulations. If meet requirements for awarding degree, Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree will be awarded after examination and under approval from University Academic Committee .
Article 18 All graduated students should do the leaving procedures, and receive Graduate Certificate and Degree Certificate depending on “Leaving Form”. Their Students statuses will be quitted and the Residence Permit cannot be extended. Graduated students should leave on specified time. The Division of International Relations Office takes charge of electronic registration of international students’ certificate of education.
Chapter VII Others
Article 19 Matters not mentioned herein shall be conducted in accordance with the relevant regulations of Training Projects for Graduate Student’s in Guiyang Medical University. SOE and Division of International Relations Office are qualified for the right of interpretation.
